Well. Wow. LIfe does like to dump on you every so often! We have a couple of big, important payments coming up, that HAVE to be made. So money is already tight this month. Then this morning, I got a call at work from the lady where I am boarding my mare Envy. This morning Envy got herself tangled in the bale feeder. She was completely tangled up; with wounds on three legs. They whipped her down to the vet clinic (where I am working part-time now thank god. but i wasn't there today). She has a little tear on her right fetlock, she tore a chunk of hide off the front of her left hind cannon bone, and she cut her left front leg above the knee down to the bone. Lovely news at 9:30 in the morning! Anyway, the vet cleaned and stitched her up, put a drain in her left front, and bandaged her all up. After my employee discount, it still came to $242.

So I went to see her at lunch time. She was lying down, and still looked doped out of her mind. There was a big dirty wet spot on her side where she'd been lying on the ground. Her mane and tail were all tangled and frozen. I brushed her out as much as I could while she was lying down, then clucked and tapped her neck until she stood up. She was pretty wobbly, and didn't want to put weight on her left hind, but she started to perk up and nibble her hay. She even drank a bit of water. I didn't want to leave her, but I can't afford to miss a day of work now!

Now after all that, I got home from work, and found out that I haven't paid my dues for my association. $50 late fee on top of it too. A moment for cursing loudly. But what can you do.
